MEMBER EDUCATION

Non-profit direct primary care membership, explained

We are a non-profit organization built to fix a broken insurance system. No claims, no networks, no deductible to clear before your care counts. You pay one flat monthly rate to the clinic, and the clinic answers to you instead of an insurer or a shareholder.

WHAT MEMBERSHIP COVERS

Four service lines, one monthly rate

Everything below is included in the membership fee. Nothing here generates a separate per-visit invoice.

Unlimited Visits

Direct primary care in large exam rooms sized for whole-family appointments.

Dental

Surgical Bays

Refraction, prescriptions and optical dispensing without an outside referral.

Lab

CLIA-Certified

Blood draw, specimen collection and diagnostics run in the building.

MEMBERSHIP VS. INSURANCE

How the two models actually differ

Membership is not insurance and does not replace catastrophic coverage. It replaces the claims machinery around everyday care.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Direct primary care membership FAQ

What is direct primary care?

Direct primary care (DPC) is a membership model. You pay the clinic a flat monthly fee and the clinic bills no insurance company for your everyday care. There are no claims, no deductibles to meet before visits count, and no copay at the door.

Is a DPC membership health insurance?

No. A membership is not insurance and does not replace catastrophic coverage. It covers the routine and preventive care most households use every year — primary care, dental, vision and on-site lab diagnostics — at a predictable monthly rate.

What does the monthly membership include?

Unlimited-visit direct primary care in our exam rooms, dental care in our surgical-grade bays, vision refraction and dispensing lanes, and CLIA-certified lab diagnostics drawn and run on site, usually with same-visit results.

How much does membership cost?

A single adult is $150 per month by bank ACH. A standard family of two adults and two children is $450 per month by bank ACH. Each additional child is a flat $75 per month. Paying by credit card adds a 4% processing surcharge.

What is not covered by the monthly fee?

Specialized procedures carry a published flat fee instead of a percentage-of-charges bill — for example outpatient surgery at $1,000 or a root canal at $600. You see the price before you consent to the procedure.

Are you a non-profit organization?

Yes. “Do The Right Thing” Health is a non-profit organization. We exist to fix a broken insurance system, not to earn a margin on it. There are no shareholders and no profit motive between you and your clinician — every dollar of membership revenue goes back into clinical capacity, staff and equipment.

How does a non-profit model change what I pay?

Insurance-billed care carries the cost of claims processing, network negotiation, denials management and investor returns. As a non-profit we carry none of that, so rates are published flat and decimal-free instead of being reverse-engineered from an insurer contract.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes. Membership is month to month and you can cancel or reactivate yourself from your member account. No phone tree, no retention call.
